4. Demonstrate your proficiency in constructing, displaying, or operating models.
a. If building aircraft, autos, military or space vehicles, boats, buildings,
or other structures that are non-operational, your proficiency should include
proper use of the correct adhesive, proper application of an appropriate
finish, and authentic or real-life effects to enhance the appearance.
b. If building aircraft, autos, military or space vehicles, boats, or rockets
that are operational (U-control, radio control, or free-flight), your
proficiency should include proper construction, finishing, and operation
of the model. If possible, demonstrate your model to your outpost group.
c. If building railroads, your proficiency should include proper and authentic
construction, detailing, finishing, setup, and operation. Photograph the
railroad setup and use the photos to give a report to your outpost group
about the railroad era, the locomotives and cars, the background and scenery,
and railway operations.
d. If building steam engines and associated tools or operations, or other large
immobile operating models, present your operating models in a railroad
setting consistent with the item you are modeling.
