1. Read all sections of the Trail Rangers handbook.
Notes:
1. Earning the Light for the Lost merit is required
to earn the final Navigator advancement.
This requirement
may be completed at any time during the program. The following
requirements must also be completed:
a. Participate in a Light for the Lost Banquet or Rally.
b. Learn about LFTL Junior
Councilman gospel literature programs, both national
and foreign.
c. Participate in a church
missions project, such as a home or foreign missions rally,
or a Royal Rangers AIM trip.
d. Give a speech to one
of the Straight Arrows, Buckaroos, Pioneers, or Trailblazers
groups about the importance of missions, and possibilities for contribution
to the
Junior Councilman foreign or national missions projects.
2. To earn the Gold Medal of Achievement, complete the following requirements:
a. Complete all Pioneers & Trailblazer standard track requirements.
b. Complete all Pioneers & Trailblazer gold track requirements.
c. Earn all Gold medal of Achievement required merits.
d. Read the entire Royal Rangers Leaders Manual.
e. Obtain from your commander
a written statement that you qualify for
the award that also contains a list of the merits you have earned.
f. Write a 500 word essay on
"The Value of Royal Rangers". It should
include
the most important benefits you have received from your
involvement,
as well as how you believe the program can benefit
other
boys.
g. The essay and statement from
the commander must be sent to the district
commander
for approval.
3. The God & Life award takes about 1 year to
complete, so plan for the necessary
time if you intend to earn it.
This award may be substituted for 3 elective merits.
4. The Spirit Challenge steps may be completed in
any order you choose. They are
used here according to the order
they appear in the Bible and Today's Issues.
Any other order is perfectly
acceptable.
5. The book, Insight Group, Rangers Guide, is required
to complete portions of the
Spirit Challenge (GPH 729-050).
